Navigating college applications and financial aid can be challenging, especially without any help! Our mentors have been there before and are able to provide assistance with filling out applications and requesting financial aid or any other obstacle the student may face.

Resume Building
A resume is a potential employer's first glance at a candidate. We want our mentees to stand out and make an excellent first impression. Our mentors have all made waves in their specific field and will aid in building an attractive resume that the mentee will be proud of.

Community Events
BWISE believes in helping the community thrive. Throughout the year we hold numerous events such as back to school fairs, book drives, college tours, non profit symposiums, etc. Through such events we hope to have a major impact on our community for years to come.

Professional Guidance
Approaching graduation evokes a lot of different feelings. There can be a great deal of anxiety associated with leaving the safe space of college and entering the professional world. The BWISE mentors aim to be an ally within their field; fostering professional relationships and relaying those unspoken “dos” and “don’t” that can make or break a career.

Mentorship Training
Not everyone automatically knows how to be a mentor. There are special tools and techniques that result in are more successful outcome for the mentee. Our BWISE mentors receive training from mentoring professionals with decades of experience. We want our mentees to feel confident that their mentor is properly equipped to help them reach their dreams.

Interview SkillsEveryone knows how nerve racking interviews can be; imagine doing so for the first time! We want to help young ladies learn the proper way to dress, speak, act during the interview process. BWISE will conduct periodic training sessions throughout the year to help build this ever so important skill. Also, the student's assigned mentor is always available for on the spot training.
