BWISE believes in helping the community thrive.
​Some of the ways we give back throughout the year are the following:

Back To School
 Donating school supplies as well as volunteering our time to a local school district in their back to school giveaway

Laptop Giveaway
 Providing  high school students with a laptop to help them continue with their education now and in the future

Teacher Appreciation
Recognizing and awarding a teacher for their dedication and efforts in helping students be successful

 Through such events we hope to have a major impact on our community for years to come.

Mentorship Training

​​Not everyone automatically knows how to be a mentor.
​There are special tools and techniques that result in are more successful outcome for the mentee. Our BWISE mentors receive training from mentoring professionals with decades of experience. We want our mentees to feel confident that their mentor is properly equipped to help them reach their dreams.

Academic Assistance
Assisting mentees with college  financial aid and scholarship applications

Resume Building
Learning how to create and/or edit your resume to stand out and make a first impression

Interview Skills
​Everyone knows how nerve racking interviews can be; imagine doing so for the first time! We want to help young ladies learn the proper way to dress, speak, act during the interview process. BWISE will conduct periodic training sessions throughout the year to help build this ever so important skill. Also, the student's assigned mentor is always available for on the spot training.

Professional Guidance
 Approaching graduation evokes a lot of different feelings.
​There can be a great deal of anxiety associated with leaving the safe space of college and entering the professional world. 
The BWISE mentors aim to be an ally within their field, fostering professional relationships and relaying those unspoken “dos” and “don’t” that can make or break a career
